DynRisk allows you to distinguish between “date nodes” and “other nodes”. If a nodes is specified as a date node, its values are displayed in a date format. Moreover, you can export the date nodes in a model file as a schedule model file which can be read by a project planning application such as Microsoft Project.
The “Date settings…” command is used to specify the time scale for a model document. A time scale is defined by its origin, i.e., the date corresponding to “time zero”, and the duration unit.
When you run a simulation, and save the results in a result file, the current date settings in the model document is copied into this result file. If you open the result file, you can use the “Date settings…” command to view the date settings that was used during the simulation. You may even change these settings temporarily. If you do this, you will observe that all date nodes values change accordingly. The underlying “raw” simulation data, however, remain unaltered. Thus, you may at any time change the date settings back again.
Note that all changes you make to a result file are just temporary changes, and not stored on the file. Hence, if you mess things up, you can always restore everything simply by closing and reopening the file.
Changes made to the date settings of a model document, however, are of course saved as soon as you save the file.
